My son just came home with a new fundraiser. He has to sell 5 $12 poinsettias by next week for band. I have no idea what this is funding in band...I had to pay $10 at the beginning of the year for a t-shirt and other supplies or whatever they need in band. I guess it's to pay for the concert expenses and field trips they take or something. Whatever.
Why do schools torture parents so much with constant fundraisers? I already have to buy the school supplies not only for my child but for the classroom as well. Isn't that enough? Now I have to do school fundraisers, student council fundraisers, band fundraisers....are there 6th grade math class fundraisers too?
When I was a kid and got these things my parents set me loose on the neighborhood and I sold to my little heart's content. It's not save to let kids do that anymore and I don't have time to take them around to hit the neighbors up for money. I'm also not allowed to take the stuff to work. What other options do I have? I'm stuck. :)
Anyone want to buy a $12 (plus shipping and handling) poinsettia? They are red, white or pink. :)
