So Kierstin had a swim party for Girl Scouts this past week. I had to work a little later so I had a friend, Brandy, pick her up to take her. Brandy stopped by on her way home from work to get her and was greeted at the door by a big brother who proceeded to tell her that Kierstin didn't have anywhere to go today and wasn't going swimming. Brandy told him that she had talked to me and I knew she was picking Kierstin up and to get her dressed in her swimming suit and she would stop back to pick her up. Brandy then called me to find out what was going on. I had already talked to Billy about it and knew that he knew so I was confused. Brandy came back 15 or so minutes later only to be greeted by the same brother. He sent Kierstin out in a night gown with no shoes. (For the record...this is NOT what she was wearing when I left for work at noon.) Brandy sent Kierstin back for some shoes. She then asked if Kierstin had anything on underneath that night gown. Nope! Oh brother! Brandy told Brydin to get Kierstin's swimming suit because she couldn't get in the pool like that. Brydin tried to tell her that that Kierstin didn't have a swimming suit...(what? she's always wearing her swimming suit?!). Brandy told him that she knew Kierstin had one because Kierstin had attended her daughter's swim party the week before. About that time Billy came out with Kierstin's swimming suit, not knowing that anyone had come to pick her up. Brydin got in trouble for sending his sister out with someone without telling his dad she had been picked up.
Now she is dressed and on her way to the swim party in a swimming suit and cowboy boots. However, the story doesn't end there. I got off work and drove straight to the pool to join up with the crowd. I was greeted by a fellow Girl Scout troop leader who said they were all laughing at Kierstin's booties. I made some kind of polite comment in return and went on slightly confused. I got to where Brandy was sitting and saw Kierstin's boots there. I figured that was what she had been talking about since Kierstin is never without her boots. Then my daughter climbed out of the pool to greet me. Her swimming suit was about 3 sizes too small. The woman who had greeted me had been telling me they were laughing about her "boobies". Oh brother! Why didn't she get a shirt to wear over the top of her small suit? Sigh....This weekend we'll be shopping for a new suit I suppose. Luckily there were only girl scouts at the pool at that time. However, no pictures will be posted (nor were they taken) for the sake of the poor child's modesty.
Some things just don't go quite right when Mom isn't around to take care of them.
